The clinical experience matters
as much as the clinical outcome.

Needle-related care can be technically successful and still leave a patient feeling unseen, unsafe, or overwhelmed. GentleDraw™ centers the full human experience—before, during, and after the encounter.

Our methodology brings trauma-informed principles, practical communication, and patient dignity into a clear, teachable standard for professionals, organizations, and specialized care settings.

Find your way into GentleDraw.

Whether you are building professional capability, seeking a more supportive care experience, or raising the standard across an organization, there is a place to begin.

Two foundations. One shared standard.

Phlebotomy and medical assisting are distinct, generally lateral allied-health roles. GentleDraw routes candidates by their underlying role or qualifying clinical license, not by a simple lower-versus-higher hierarchy.

GDF

GentleDraw Fundamentals

The appropriate foundation for personnel who perform, prepare for, or support blood collection.

  • Phlebotomists and phlebotomy students
  • Medical assistants, CMAs, RMAs, and CCMAs
  • CNAs and patient care technicians
  • Other qualifying allied-health personnel

Successful candidates receive a permanent Fundamentals ID Number with the GDF prefix. The passing requirement remains 90%.

GDPC

Practitioner Certification

Reserved for professionals who hold a qualifying clinical license.

  • LPNs and LVNs
  • Registered nurses
  • APRNs and nurse practitioners
  • Physician assistants and physicians
  • Other specifically approved licensed clinicians

Successful candidates receive a permanent GDPC Credential Number. Both required assessments retain the 90% passing standard.

Medical assisting credentials. An MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, or similar credential alone does not establish Practitioner eligibility. A separately held qualifying clinical license may.

IV courses. An IV course certificate or add-on microcredential does not independently move a learner from GDF to GDPC.

Supplemental credentials. Special Populations and the Mobile credential build on the learner's appropriate GDF or GDPC foundation. They do not change professional category or legal scope.

Choose the pathway that fits your credentials.

Does a CMA qualify for Practitioner Certification?

Not solely because of the CMA credential. A CMA is welcomed in Fundamentals. If that person also holds a qualifying clinical license, Practitioner eligibility is based on that separate license.

Does an IV certificate change my pathway?

No. An IV course or add-on certificate does not independently create GDPC eligibility.

Are GDF and GDPC numbers permanent?

Yes. The Fundamentals ID Number and Practitioner Credential Number are permanent, distinct identifiers. They do not convert into one another.

Do specialty credentials change my professional category?

No. Special Populations and the Mobile credential are supplemental. They remain attached to the appropriate GDF or GDPC foundation and do not expand, grant, or modify scope.
